There is great promise in the use of artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), and big data by government agencies to build better constituent experiences and address seemingly intractable civic and societal challenges like climate change and social justice disparities. But agencies must confront data bias and bring transparency and accountability to their AI/ML initiatives.
