How Government Procurement is Different Now

State and local government procurement organizations made rapid changes to continue meeting agency needs during the pandemic. Many of these changes were overdue and will remain in the return to normal operations. Yet additional changes are necessary to continue driving modernization in procurement policies and technologies. The motivation to continue this procurement transformation will be sustained by the lessons learned and new stakeholder expectations coming out of the pandemic. Post-pandemic conditions and directions for state and local government procurement were the focus of a Center for Digital Government (CDG) survey conducted in April 2021. This report presents the findings of that nationwide research.
