The long-term shift to remote and hybrid work means government agencies must view virtual collaboration from a more strategic angle. During the COVID-19 pandemic, agencies were able to meet the first challenge of remote and hybrid work: supporting virtual connections among employees and their supervisors to maintain critical government functions. The next set of challenges involves enabling cross-functional teams to seamlessly collaborate on everything from project management and complex procurements to RFP review boards and critical operational tasks. This brief examines how government leaders can empower cross-functional teams in virtual or hybrid environments.
