The FBI updated its Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy in July 2024 to address the ever-changing cyber threat landscape. Agencies using criminal justice data must adhere to the baseline security standards in the update, Version 5.9.5, for safe operation.
The new document addresses evolving concerns in areas such as incident response, cloud security and multifactor authentication.
