Government and higher education organizations often require elaborate databases to manage large volumes of data and transactions. As these technology consumers transition to the cloud, they face unique challenges around speed, flexibility, scale and security. One way to overcome these challenges is to adopt an approach that takes hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI) to the next level through a hyperconverged database platform. This paper outlines the challenges and opportunities of hyperconverged database technologies for government agencies and higher education institutions transitioning to the cloud, and offers best practices to implement such a program successfully.
