State and local government agencies employ millions of Americans. To help keep those people safe when they’re on the job, agencies must implement next-generation 911 (NG911) systems that help pinpoint callers’ exact location and allow them to share images, texts, medical sensor data and other potentially life-saving details that cannot be shared via traditional voice-only 911 calls. Some NG911 upgrades are even mandated by new federal regulations.
